In order to broaden our horizons a little bit so we bought a bottle of Italian as we usually had neglected. Contributing factor is understood that the wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. musco family olive The grapes come from calcareous soils 300m above sea level in the Valpolicella / Veneto and is manually harvested musco family olive in late October. The grapes are then dried 1 month and wine has finally been 15-18 months in new oak barrels. We have by now begun to fear that we have before us some sort of hard fatad Amarone -wannabe made from Cabernet, ooh ... sounds nothing further. There is only one way to find out! The color of the wine is beautifully dark red. The aroma offers clear fatad Cabernet with black currant jam / jelly, dried plums and dark roasted coffee. Furthermore creeps they feared the raisins produced together with a small puff of raspberries. We have by now begun to prepare ourselves for a substantial sugary treat. In the mouth the wine is full-bodied and a little kärnbittert with a pleasant astringency, moderate tannins with an overall tight tone. We are treated to dark berries, coffee, prunes and raisins. It is a good concentration of flavors albeit a little over extracted. The sweet bomb that we were afraid of conspicuous by their absence, beautiful! The raspberries we sniffed out the carafe choose to remain in it, they are not present in the glass either for the nose or mouth. Overall it was a pleasant acquaintance, albeit not need creation. What we lack is some fresh fruits and berries, the things we find moving in the dark-dried scale. But it's always fun to try some new wines.
