One of the most affordable Amarone dshs ems wines can be bought at Systembolaget is Amarone Selezione Antonio Castagnedi (No. 28002) dshs ems from the producer Tenuta Sant Antonio. When we smell we are greeted by a lovely cherry fruit, but there are also some prunes, herbs and dark chocolate. The fragrance is clear and fairly typical of Amarone. It is without being too obvious and too embracing. In the mouth will return the sweet, dark cherries, but now the courtship with prunes, dark chocolate and a few pinches of Mediterranean herbs. There is a good and alert acid with a small hint of tannins. The latter is very soft and accommodating. The aftertaste is firmly long and there are connecting some dried fruit, figs and dates more than raisins. The tone of the dark chocolate is palpable and leave a little bitter tone. This is exactly how it should be. Sure there are a tad fattoner, but they are neither heavy or noisy. At the end came when finally a little taste of sweet licorice. This is brilliant good !! Score 4+
